Maria, Helga and Kiki were best friends in their youth, but for many years there has been dead silence between them. When Helga and Maria meet by chance one day, their joy at seeing each other again is rather limited. Both women don't have that much going on in their lives: Helga, a mother of two and already a grandmother, is mourning her deceased husband, and Maria, whose son Jakob has taken over the family jewelry store in the meantime, feels no less lonely. At that moment, the third of the trio of girls appears: the eccentric Kiki, who has left Landshut for the wide world to start a music career. But just as little remains of her early fame as of her fees. The other two find it anything but thrilling that Kiki, of all people, who had abandoned their childhood dream of a joint dance café, is now playing best friend again. And yet the old idea of taking over the Düll dance café soon begins to take shape - to the displeasure of their children. However, the three ladies get support from Kiki's crush Cabrio and Helga's secret admirer Lothar, who long for the "Lonely Hearts Club". This helps them to overcome setbacks - because Maria, Helga and Kiki simply want to try again!
